Hopefully sometime this year I will be able to run my 1st 10km marathon. It's no secret that I've never been a long distance kind of person... I'm a sprinter, a dasher, an accelerator... I pick up fast and dwindle away if the finishing line is too remote.

But it's the few charity bike rides that I did in the last 2 years that thought me that going the distance is all about brain muscles; it's about mind over matter. It's about a personal challenge, it's about discipline.

I've picked up running in the last week and checked out the company's private gym. It's small but very decent. The machines are very new and adequate for a full body work out. For some reason, not many in the company really use it. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "private". I exercised to Josh Groban's Christmas Album 'Noel', which was apparently the only CD lying around. It was so wrong... there were moments while doing my crunches that I would rather lie asleep! 'Silent Night' ain't exactly the right rhythm for a run.

I'm taking small steps at a time. Nothing too ambitious. 1st goal would be to do a 10km RunTeam in the inaugural Lion City Marathon 2008. Wendy, Celeste and Dennis are already on board. Need to get another 2 more participants. Figure it'll be good fun.

And so the training begins!
Celeste suggests that we formulate a training chart with a proper training and diet program. Considering I everything I worked out yesterday with KFC this evening! It's all about discipline!
