Japanese Pea Keychain 03
My new keychain and a fantastic way to release stress. A new toy I picked up at the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2009. Who can resist squeezing these Edamame beans.

Edamame are baby soybeans, picked before they blossom into adulthood, and boiled. Edamame are also delicious and fun to pop out of their pods. Each Japanese Popping Edamame Keychain has three beans. The end beans are small and immature. The middle bean, however, has one of few random faces printed on it.

Japanese Pea Keychain 05
There are as many as 12 different "surprise" faces in the centre pea. I got the happy smiley face

When it was first released in Japan last year, they were the snapped up everywhere. Another success story of a highly addictive, silly Japanese toy.
