Because Wendy is such a mega QUEEN fan, we had to stay till the stroke of midnight to catch the “THE KILLER QUEEN SHOW” at Beerfest Asia 2010. And who am I to be complaining... I love "Bohemian Rhapsody" done live anythime! “THE KILLER QUEEN SHOW” was an act that showcased the music of the greatest rock band of the twentieth century and pays homage to the most charismatic and flamboyant front man of all, Freddie Mercury.
Dragged along by Wendy, plonking ourselves just a row behind the first. Can you spot me snapping away with my camera lifted high in the centre?
It was in fact a little eerie to witness how alike the band members were to the real Queen's musical legacy, energy, iconic performances and insane wardrobe!
Brisbane actor and musician Johnny Blunt, bared an uncanny resemblance to Freddie Mercury. I wouldn't say he was as suave, but he was very close!
As far as Queen music goes, there's nothing not to like. The crowd was clapping in uni-sense to "Radio Gaga", punching fists to "We Will Rock You" and with lifted hands (holding on to unknown strangers) singing aloud to “We Are The Champions”! That's the kind of magic of Queen!
The Killer Queen sings "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (Pardon the loud bass again!)
It would have been awesome to have ever caught Freddie Mercury live. And just like Micheal Jackson... I wouldn't want to give up on a chance to catch Madonna or U2...
