There's nothing like little pleasures in life... a hot tan by the pool, a quiet fishing trip, a hard cycle up the hill, a beer in the night, feasting my eyes on 'Battlestar Galactica' or a spa treat by friends!!!

Nested in the heart of Bishan Park II is one of Singapore's most beautiful heartland spa - Aramsa Spa. Their tropical resort concept was a truly welcome treat to the visual and senses. There was an instant relaxation upon entering the compound, with glass panels looking out to lush green gardens.

Voted Best Spa Experience at the Singapore Tourism Award 2006, the company boasts of total wellbeing facilities, where bodywork is an essential element with special focus programmes (detox, tonic energy, immunology) spa retreats and healthy dining.

From the exorbitantly priced Signature Garden Packages, I was treated to the Garden Radiance double. The 90min package comes with a radiance scrub and a bamboo retreat massage. Natural, botanical, herb based products were selected and weaved into the message menu. Everything from the soaking of the feet to the bamboo pressured message to the supply of disposal G-strings worked like a bliss. There was enough pressure for those tired muscles, so much so that my shoulders started to ache the next day!

It was very thoughtful how they payed attention to create of total sensory experience of relaxation. However, I had hoped for a stronger aroma scent during the message and in the oil.

The relaxation room after the message was a very comfortable place to hang out. I totally love their free-flow servings of Pandan Leaf & Lemon Grass tea. Think I helped myself to 3 glasses - it was totally tasty.

It was later that I also remembered that Soleil's Spa Lifestyle will be engaging Aramsa as their principle spa operator. It will be rejuvenation at the doorstep! It's nice to know that good standards will be expected.

The 2 lovelies who accompanied me on the treat

We were joined by the rest of the gang for dinner and wine at Canopy - garden alfresco in a park setting. Wine for the night was a bottle of Red Merlot called St. Claire. Aptly, holy...

Canopy serves an international menu with an Asian influence, and would have been much better if they have not forgotten my Grilled Snapper till around 10pm! I think I got the fish on the house...

Thanks again gals and a guy for "pampering" me!

"Receiving is an art. It means allowing the other to become part of our lives. It means daring to become dependent on the other. It asks for the inner freedom to say: "Without you I wouldn't be who I am." Receiving with the heart is therefore a gesture of humility and love." - Henri Nouwen
