My first attempt at High Dynamic Range imaging (HDR). HDR is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. The technique is to capture multiple (at least three) standard photographs, often using exposure bracketing, and then merging them into an HDR image. I was capturing at +2, 0 and -2. This wide dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight. It definitely brought up a lot more details in the pictures.

Certainly not the best HDR shots out there. But for a first attempt, I thought it was decent effort.

ReplyDeleteEh the 'fountain' pic is actually a Waterfall! Didn't really think I did the HDR pics as well. Will try it out again with another software - Photomatix.
