It was another Oscars. Strangely the hype wasn't as great for me this year. Wonder if it was because I was down with the flu. It certainly wasn't a fair judge as I only watched 'Finding Neverland' (which I absolutely adore) and 'Million Dollar Baby', which won the award for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. Eastwood certainly aged with lots of grace and Swank deserved her trophy (2nd time around). For that, I still haven't watched 'Boys Don't Cry'.

It seemed that many films in the earlier half of the year didn't make it to the nominations list. Namely the blood and gore 'The Passion of the Christ' and Ang Lee's wanna be 'House of Flying Daggers'. I've been egar to catch 'The Avaitor' and guess it was ultimately a fight between Eastwood and Scorsese. Overall, the awards were predictable and the speeches were uninspiring. The underdogs were just too deep underground to unearth themselves.
