Before the curtains opened... the classic introduction of The Addams Family theme played... a familiar chill runs through the audience and everyone snaps their fingers in unisense. It's the magic of the creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, all together ooky, Addams Family!

Through the cemetery gates pounced all our favourite Addams Family characters, Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, Pubert Addams and Thing, the disembodied hand for a pet. The entire family crawled out of the black and white CRT television set to perform live on a musical stage.

The original story of this muscial comedy was simple. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness in The Addams Family, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. The only problem was that he was "ordinary"; not a term easily understood in this peculiar family.

Wednesday confides in her father, Gomez and he was made to keep the relationship a secret from his wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. We all know The Addams Family will be anything but normal!

There were no suprises in the story plot with predictability in every scene. What lacked in story complexity, the family friendy production made up in a phenomenally talented cast, extremely enjoyable musical tracks, fantastic makeup and an excellent stage design.

The greatest voice in this production belonged to Jennifer Fogarty as the dangerous ingénue Wednesday Addams. Her song “Pulled” held the first act’s musical performances together. Her voice was too good. Crazy talent!

Waiting for the musical to start at the Resorts World Sentosa, Festive Grand Theatre

My mobit self was dressed in all black for the occasion. Fawn and I picked up merchanises of a mug and the music soundtrack and wiggled our way to the cast autograph and photo taking!

With Lurch – the Frankenstein-zombie deadpan butler of The Addams Family mansion. And Jennifer Fogarty (Wednesday Addams) autographing the mug.

Uncle Fester's turn in the autograph

Another autographed CD!

It was pretty obvious what sucker fans we were!
