Esther, Sharon and myself go back a long way. Way too long really. We are each unique; in personalities, in goals, in the way we react to situations around us. With so much going on in our personal lives, I paused and realised we all shared something in common - Our drive for Charity and sharing our lives in some strange personal way.

Everyone knows Frank Baum's 'The Wizard of Oz'. "I'm going to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz!" Okay, skip the rest of this blog if you didn't catch a clue of what I just wrote.
'The Wizard of Oz' is an all time favourite of mine. I adore the characters and made believe places; The Tin Man, The Cowardly Lion, The Scarecrow, Emerald City, The Ruby Slippers and Toto! Woof!
In some bizarre way, I see the characters enfolding in life... we're all in search of the Wizard; and to each one, our Wizard can be different.

A Lion is symbol of strength, authority and power. But only when a Lion has a lush head of hair. Sharon, as you all know had shaved off her Lion's mane for Children with Cancer. Not everyone has the courage to go in public and razor off your crowning glory. It takes real guts to pull something off like that...

A Tin Man is crafted to perfection, but what use is perfection without a heart of gold? Esther has been spending her off days to help in the welfare of Children from Abused Homes. To me, this kind of voluntary work is the toughest. Where you become involved in the life of an individual and create a long term emotional bond. It's a commitment and entails a lot of heart.

A Scarecrow stands guard and wades of unwanted preys at the sway of soft gales. For me, I needed a mind like the Scarecrow, who in the story takes care of the land towards the end. My effort is in giving of my sweat and blood (literally) in the Charity Rides for the Mission Hospitals and Physically Disabled. In grueling heat and marathon distances, it's a mind over body activity...

So the 3 wholesome buddies skips down The Yellow Brick Road...
By the way... where's Dorothy?
